Better than Expected
This last weekend we traveled to Denver for a friend's wedding. Honestly, I was DREADING this weekend for multiple reasons, but it turned out to be much better than I thought that it would be. Karlie flew in to help watch Keagan and we had a GREAT time with her! She is the cutest aunt and Keagan just loves her.
Brent was asked to be the officiant for the wedding. They had taken care of the legal marriage beforehand, and so Brent was able to perform this ceremony. He did an excellent job!! He is so impressive!!

Solid foods
Keagan started solid foods this last week. We started with the rice cereal watered down with breast milk. He still isn't a huge fan, but every day it is getting better! This next weeks challenge is eating veggies! I am sure that he will love it!
So right after I stopped recording, he did the funniest shudder. It was like he was saying,"EWW. Don't you guys love me anymore!". I wish I would have caught it on film! It was great!!
6 months old
I can't believe that Keagan is 6 months old. He had his 6 month check up a couple of weeks ago, but I have been bad about posting about it. He weighed 16 lbs 1 oz (25th percentile) and was 27 1/2 inch long (75th-80th percentile). He is still tall and skinny!
He now:
sits up for long periods of time
has favorite toys that he loves to play with and screams when he drops them
still sleeps like an angel for 12 hours every night
continues to put EVERYTHING in his mouth
is a HUGE mamas boy
loves to giggle and hear himself talk
and is starting to crawl! Here is a video of him doing his "army crawl". He hasn't quite figured it out completely, but trust me, he can get from point A to point B quite fast!! I have a feeling that this is the beginning of the end and that I need to start baby proofing the house!

Memorial Day Weekend
This past week we have had Brent's dad, Steve, stay with us. While sometimes trying, :) , we still had a good time. While he was here we traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for Brent to deliver a presentation. Brent did an excellent job (of course) and actually got tons of praise from one of the most respected historians in the country. We are very proud of him!!!
This weekend kicked off our crazy summer of research trips for Brent's dissertation. We counted and out of 14 weekends, we will be out of town 9 of them... craziness... but tons of fun too. Keagan and I get to tag along and sightsee!
Here are some pictures of this past week and our travels!
In the hotel room, trying to crawl on the bed... he is getting so close, but for now he just likes to do "downward facing dog" alot!
He loves the water! Which is excellent because I plan on taking him to the pool frequently this summer!!
View from our window. That is the Kansas City Royals stadium on the right and the Chiefs on the left. Too bad its not football season and the Royals weren't in town....
Liberty Memorial - World War I Museum.
It was a very cool museum. It is the only World War I museum in the country. If you are ever in the Kansas City area, it is worth seeing.
View of Union Station and downtown K.C. from the Liberty Memorial. They were preparing for a live symphony performance in front of Union Station and then fireworks in honor of Memorial Day. Sadly, we had to get back to Lincoln and couldn't see it!
Sorry about the necessity to turn your head... thought I fixed this....
This is inside the museum. It was a very impressive place!
On the drive home. Brent and I had to giggle because I think that we have a picture like this on EVERY road trip that we take. The only thing that changes is our hair... too funny!
