Family walk...

It was finally nice enough outside to take a walk. In the past we would put Keagan in his stroller and he didn't really enjoy it. So this time we tried the Baby Bjorn and he LOVED it. It was so nice to be outside and not freeze! Hopefully it will stay this way for awhile!!

FINALLY!

We finally got video of Keagan laughing! Brent had to hide the camera and make no sudden movements, but we outsmarted our 3 1/2 month old! Hence, the side view! Too bad it came at my expense, as I am just out of the shower with my hair in a towel! It was still a victory!!! Enjoy!

The Snow Has Finally Thawed...

We can finally see the grass out here in Nebraska. It has been below freezing since December and in the last week the temperature actually got in the 40's. It is a heat wave!

I am not very good about updating this blog, but here is an update of the past month in the Rogers' household...

1.) We have entered Brent's favorite part of the year... when I am older than him. I turned 27 this past week and Brent will be 26 until the end of April. This is the time that Brent loves to tell everyone that I am a "cradle robber" and a "cougar" and that he loves older women... I personally think that I don't qualify for any of those titles, but we agree to disagree on this one.

2.) Brent is now officially a Ph.D. candidate. That means that he passed all of his comprehensive exams and only has his dissertation left. We are so proud of him and all of the hard work that he does!!

3.) Keagan is now 3 1/2 months old and is the best baby! He is smiley all the time and has the cutest personality. He loves laughing at his mom. I will do anything to make him laugh and he has the cutest giggle. It melts my heart!!!
He sleeps 9 -10 hours at night and wakes up talking in the morning. He LOVES to hear his voice... he must have got that from his mother! Whenever Brent and I try to get any talking or laughing on film, he can sense the camera and stops and stares at the camera. We are thinking about hiding the camera and trying to outsmart him. Hopefully it will work...
He continues to be a joy and the biggest blessing in our lives!

Here are some pictures over the last month...
He loves playing on his playmat!

My parents gave us a camera for my birthday... Brent and I had fun messing around with it!

It took about 20 tries for us to get this picture. I was taking it and it took awhile!

Big belly! He has quite the milk gut!

So smiley!

Keagan and I are now back in Nebraska with Brent. We have mixed emotions about being back... happy to be with Brent, but sad that we aren't with our family in Utah. We had such a great time in Utah!! We came home to a new apartment and I am still trying to figure out where everything is.

Keagan had his two month check-up this past week. We weighs 11 lbs 13 oz, which is in the 50th percent, and is 24 in long, which is in the 80th percent. He is tall and skinny just like his dad!! He is still the happiest baby and is so much fun! We are loving every moment.

I went back to work last week. It is hard leaving Keagan, but it is nice leaving him with Brent. They are having some fun bonding time together! Luckily I only work 20 hours a week and can still spend alot of time at home!!

Alot has happened...

Apparently I am not very good at posting on here. Alot has happened since my last post. Here is a quick recap of the last 6 weeks.

Keagan is almost 8 weeks old and is growing so much. He is getting smiley and cooing all the time. He still is a very good baby and will sleep up to 7 hours every night which makes his parents very happy.

We drove to Utah for Christmas and while driving we hit a dead deer that was in the road. It tore up the plastic covering underneath the car. Luckily Brent is a wannabe McGyver, and he was able to ziptie the pieces securely enough that we were still able to make it to Utah.

We spent a fun holiday with the family. Keagan was smothered with lots of love. It was great seeing family and friends.

After new years Brent went back to Nebraska to take his comprehensive exams for his Ph.D. Keagan and I are staying in Utah with my parents to ensure that we don't distract Brent while he is taking his tests. Brent was met with some surprises when he returned to Nebraska. First our car wouldn't start and had to be towed to a mechanic and second our apartment had flooded while we were gone. The apartment above us had failed to leave their heat on or faucet dripping and since Nebraska has been in the negatives while we were gone, their pipes broke and flooded our place. It was up to 6 inches in some places. There is mold on the walls, on my clothes and belongings along with alot of water damage. We will be moving to another apartment since this one is now unlivable. Brent has been staying in one of the furnished apartments while taking his tests and we figure out where we are going. Life is never easy!

Here are some fun pictures of the last few weeks!

3 Generations!
Steve was able to come out over Christmas and New Years. It was great seeing him.

Hanging out with his cuz Vance!

His blessing outfit!

I knitted this Santa outfit and Christmas Stocking while on bedrest. He was the cutest Santa I have ever seen!

2 Weeks Old...

Keagan had his 2 week check up yesterday. We were in the middle of a crazy snow storm so it took us 45 minutes to get to his appointment. Nebraska doesn't clear the roads of snow very quickly, so it makes driving a bit hazardous. But we made it and Keagan is growing quite well. He is now 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. He is the best baby. He has been sleeping through the night for up to 5 hours at a time, which makes for a very happy mom and dad. He rarely cries and is a complete joy to be around.
The one thing that he has been doing that has been a little vexing is that he pees every time we take his diaper off. We can cover him and be as fast as can be at putting the clean diaper on, and he still finds the opportune moment to pee. We have been doing a lot of laundry lately, to say the least.

Keagan got a big package full of fun gifts from Grandma!

Keagan already has an amazing shoe collection. Uncle Bryan gave him some Converse and Uncle Tyler gave him some Air Jordans. I love that my baby has great shoes! Thanks guys!

So tired...

My bad habit. I just love snuggling this little man!

Even though we are tired, we couldn't be happier!! Keagan is the most beautiful, amazing little man ever...
