festivites

The month of July is full of fun in the state of Utah.  We started off with the 4th of July.  My mom grew up going to the Riverdale parade and then to the park to play games and eat food.  So she was super excited to take her grandkids to it!  Keagan and Makinsey had a blast!

The fireworks show was awesome!  Keagan kept laughing and saying, "The fireworks are funny!", "I wanna touch them!"

Keagan loves to see himself on the camera!

The next week was Farmington Days, which is a week long celebration.  On that Saturday, there is a parade and fireworks show.  I was at a girls weekend so Brent took the kids with my family.  Once again, they loved the parade!  We went to the fireworks and live music when I got home that night.  It was so funny watching Makinsey.  She is the most social girl I have ever seen.  She went and introduced herself to everyone within a 25 ft radius.  Let's just say that we were exhausted when we got home from chasing her everywhere!

Here are some pictures from the two parades!

Love this "intense" face of Keagan's.  Usually when the lower jaw starts sticking out it means he is going to punch, shove, kick, push, run into, tackle.... basically something that is ALL boy!  We like to call this his "Kobe" face!

This is one of my favorite pictures for a couple of reasons....
1. Kins is punching the Bee.  Atleast I know that she will always defend herself from scary things!
2. The look of pure panic on her face.
3. And the best of all... the fact that Brent is laughing SO hard at her!  Apparently, he isn't going to save her from the big, bad bee!!!

swimming...

The favorite past time this summer has been going swimming.  Both of the kiddos LOVE the water!  Keagan has always loved the water, but had a healthy fear of it.  He would never jump in or go too deep without an adult near.  Makinsey on the other hand is CRAZY!  She has NO FEAR!  She will walk to the edge and then continue over the edge into the deep end, without thinking about it!  She will go under the water and come out laughing!  She keeps me on my toes!

Both of the uncles are SO cute with the kids!  They love love love playing with them at the pool!

(and the answer is YES if you were asking yourself if Dustin is checking his chest out instead of watching Keagan!!! :)

We signed up for swimming lessons for Keagan for two weeks.  It was close enough that we were able to walk there on some of the day!  The kids love being in their stroller!
Keagan wasn't old enough to be in the beginner class and so we were in the mom and tot class.  He did SO SO SO SOOOOOO good!

Here is a video of Keagan on the last day!  He is a little swimmer!  The teacher said that he is totally ready for the next level!  Any time I would touch him, he would tell me.... "Mom, let go!"  So independent!

Recent Happenings

This summer has been very busy!  Here are a few photos from the month of June....

We traveled to California for Brent's little sister, Brandice's wedding.  It was a fast and busy trip, but we had tons of fun.  Since it was so busy, I naturally forgot to take photos.... here are the only ones I took!
They had sparkling cider for the toast and Keagan was in LOVE!  I think that he had atleast 5.

Love these two boys!!!  So handsome in their tuxes.  We were worried that Keagan was going to hate the tux and not be good during the ceremony.  Once he saw his daddy in a matching tux, he loved it.  He didn't want to take it off.  He walked down the aisle so good!  I was the maid of honor, so he was able to walk right after me... the cute flower girl was a little bit older than Keagan so she was going to hold his hand while they walked down the aisle.  Once I started walking, Keagan couldn't wait to follow and practically dragged the flower girl with him down the aisle.  It was super cute.  And then during the ceremony Brent held Keagan and had a stash of gummy bears hidden in his coat.  So any time that Keagan started to talk, Brent would stuff a gummy in his mouth.  Keagan, being the smart boy that he is, figured out where Brent hid the gummies and during one of the prayers he reached in Brent's pocket and pulled out the whole bag.  Let's just say that Keagan didn't make another noise!!

My cute big girl!

Who needs clothes to sleep?!  Not this boy!

She's ONE!!

Happy Birthday Makinsey!!!!!
I cannot believe that my little girl is one!!!  She is the sweetest little girl ever!!
Here are some things that she is doing...
She flirts with every male within 50 yards of her
She loves to wave and say "Hiiiiiii!"
She loves her dad and will yell for him all day long!
She will stand all by herself for extended periods of time.
She will take two steps, realize what she is doing and then slowly lower herself to the ground.  She is going to decide that she wants to walk and just take off running any day now!
She loves all kinds of food!
She is starting to get a little feisty and hold her own against her brother.
She has learned that if she cries she will get her brother in trouble and get attention.  Poor Keagan... his little sister is a drama queen!
She continues to sleep like an all star!
She is our little joy!!!
We had a party for her with family and friends.
She is obsessed with her Uncle Dustin!  She L.O.V.E.'s him.  I think that he is her favorite.... but it is a close tie with Daddy, Uncle Trav and Grandpa.

This is her model pose!

Opening Uncle Trav's present

I love this picture cause this is her "scream until I get what I want" face!

Aunt Karlie made her a special birthday cake!
She wasn't too sure of it at first....

slowly starts to enjoy it...

And finally digs in!

Keagan thought that all of the toys were for him!!!  She got a little Princess Coupe.
That they both love!! (Look at those amazing blue eyes!!!)

Of course we can never forget Keagan and he got a number of presents too!

Opening presents!

Part of her presents was decorating her bedroom.  I wish I had a before picture, but it was white walls with just the crib in it.  We got her a dresser, painted and then made the tent for her.  Lots of work, but I think that it turned out well.
Here is a closer look at the tent and pillows that I made for Kins.  Thank you pinterest for the idea!
Thanks to everyone that helped with the party and that came and hung out with us!  Makinsey had a great birthday!  We love you Makinsey Denise and can't imagine our lives without you!!!!

Easter

We were able to have multiple easter egg hunts with the kids this year!  We did one in our backyard with Grammy and Grandpa!
We did one with the kids inside... Makinsey didn't really get it!
But Keagan loved his Easter basket!!!
Aunt Cassie and Uncle Mike came to visit and were able to help dye eggs!  So fun!
There was a big Easter egg hunt at the park by our house!  We love our neighborhood and all the fun things we get to do!!!

This is when Keagan discovered that there are candy inside and he went CRAZY!!!  Running everywhere to find more eggs!
