2 Weeks Old...

Keagan had his 2 week check up yesterday. We were in the middle of a crazy snow storm so it took us 45 minutes to get to his appointment. Nebraska doesn't clear the roads of snow very quickly, so it makes driving a bit hazardous. But we made it and Keagan is growing quite well. He is now 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. He is the best baby. He has been sleeping through the night for up to 5 hours at a time, which makes for a very happy mom and dad. He rarely cries and is a complete joy to be around.
The one thing that he has been doing that has been a little vexing is that he pees every time we take his diaper off. We can cover him and be as fast as can be at putting the clean diaper on, and he still finds the opportune moment to pee. We have been doing a lot of laundry lately, to say the least.

Keagan got a big package full of fun gifts from Grandma!

Keagan already has an amazing shoe collection. Uncle Bryan gave him some Converse and Uncle Tyler gave him some Air Jordans. I love that my baby has great shoes! Thanks guys!

So tired...

My bad habit. I just love snuggling this little man!

Even though we are tired, we couldn't be happier!! Keagan is the most beautiful, amazing little man ever...

My dad and Karlie and Travis were able to drive out the day after Keagan was born and spend Thanksgiving with us. It was so great having family here! They had to leave today and I am still crying about it! We can't wait til Keagan gets to meet all of his family and friends!
If any of you know my mother and Karlie, you know that they LOVE pictures! Over Keagan's first 3 days of life, they took over 400 photos! Here are a couple of my favorites that I wanted to share with all of you....

He's Here!!

Brent and I are so blessed about our little new arrival! Keagan Eugene Rogers was born on November 24th, 2009 at 7:56 pm. He weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and measured in at 20 3/4 in. He is the most amazing creation I have ever seen!
The final month of this pregnancy was not a pleasant time. At 36 weeks I started into labor AGAIN and they stopped it AGAIN. Then at 37 1/2 weeks I started having strong, consistent contractions again so we went to labor and delivery. The nurse told us that since I wasn't far enough along they weren't going to stop labor but they also weren't going to encourage it but she was confident I would have the baby within 24 hours. Since I was holding steady at 4 cm, they said that I could stay or go home. At this point, my mother had jumped on the first plane and was on her way to Nebraska and I wanted Brent to be able to pick her up, so we left the hospital. This all happened on November 18th.... so obviously the nurse was wrong about the imminent arrival. My labor stopped and Brent and my mom had the pleasure of having to keep me sane for the next 6 days! We walked and walked and went to movies and nothing happened! Finally we went to my Dr appointment on Tuesday the 24th. By this time my cervix had changed to a 5 and the Dr felt that it was time for us to break my water and get the party started. I also think that she was afraid that I was about to have a psychological breakdown. Whatever the reasoning, she sent me to labor and delivery.
We got there and she broke my water and started pitocin at about 4:00 pm. I got an epidural at 5:30 pm, but it wasn't working fully and the contractions were coming like crazy. The anesthesiologist decided to give my epidural a little bump at this point. Finally it started working and I was feeling nothing! At about 6:45 I started feeling really light headed and like I was about to pass out. At the same time the baby's heartrate dropped. Brent ran for the nurse and then all the scary craziness started. They were flipping me from side to side and I finally ended up on my hands and knees. Keep in mind that I am feeling NOTHING from the waist down. It took Brent, my mom and 2 other nurses to flip me. Not my proudest moment. All the while, the nurses are talking about getting the "room down the hall" ready (the O.R.) and getting the Dr here. I think my mom, Brent and I were barely not freaking out. Finally we were able to get his heartrate up and I was able to lay on my back again. By this point the Dr was here and she checked me and informed me that it was time to push. I still had ZERO feeling below the waist and therefore could not feel if I was infact pushing. The dr said I was doing fine, but it was a very frustrating experience. After 30 minutes of pushing, the baby's heartbeat started to drop again so the Dr used to vacuum to get him all the way out! Of course I couldn't have a no drama delivery. Everything with this pregnancy has been drama! Keagan came out crying and peeing everywhere and was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. He is a great baby thus far! And Brent and I are enjoying every sleepless moment with him!

Can't wait...

Anyone who has been around me during this pregnancy will tell you that I am not the biggest fan of being pregnant. But I am very excited about a couple of things at the end of this ordeal....

First, I cannot wait to be able to meet my little baby and see his cute little face. But there are two things that are almost tied for first. They are: sleeping on my stomach, and the ability to gracefully get off the couch/chair. You don't really realize that you are going to lose these great things when you first decide to have a baby. I cannot wait to have them back! I think that I am counting down the days for these things almost as much as seeing my baby!!!

Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer and he will come early! One can only hope....

Finally gave in....

I have been told by many friends that I needed to jump on the blog bandwagon. I have resisted for awhile, but since I am currently on bed rest and bored, I finally gave in and created a blog. Also, I always thought that Brent and I didn't live exciting enough lives, but now with the lil guy almost here I figure that this can be a good way to keep all of the family updated and show cute photos. I cannot promise that I will be good at keeping up with this, but I am going to try!

For our family and friends that don't have
facebook, here are some prego pictures!

First Husker game of the season! 27 weeks(6 months)

31 weeks(7 months)
We had an ultrasound today, and it looks like he is weighing in at approx 5 lbs 4 oz. They also are allowing me to add some minimal activities back into my life!!! It is sad, but I am really excited that I get to go to work next week for 8-10 hours!! Brent is excited that I can help out with the cooking again. He has become quite the chef. Making homemade chili, lasagna and clam chowder. I have enjoyed having him cook for me!!! A hidden talent that we didn't know that he had!

Well, here's to giving this blogging thing a shot....
