Memorial Day Weekend

This past week we have had Brent's dad, Steve, stay with us. While sometimes trying, :) , we still had a good time. While he was here we traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for Brent to deliver a presentation. Brent did an excellent job (of course) and actually got tons of praise from one of the most respected historians in the country. We are very proud of him!!!

This weekend kicked off our crazy summer of research trips for Brent's dissertation. We counted and out of 14 weekends, we will be out of town 9 of them... craziness... but tons of fun too. Keagan and I get to tag along and sightsee!

Here are some pictures of this past week and our travels!

In the hotel room, trying to crawl on the bed... he is getting so close, but for now he just likes to do "downward facing dog" alot!

Getting ready to go to the pool!!

First time swimming! He loves his floaty!! He is so dang cute in it too!

He loves the water! Which is excellent because I plan on taking him to the pool frequently this summer!!

Goofing around in the hotel room!

View from our window. That is the Kansas City Royals stadium on the right and the Chiefs on the left. Too bad its not football season and the Royals weren't in town....

Liberty Memorial - World War I Museum.
It was a very cool museum. It is the only World War I museum in the country. If you are ever in the Kansas City area, it is worth seeing.

Walking up to the memorial...

View of Union Station and downtown K.C. from the Liberty Memorial. They were preparing for a live symphony performance in front of Union Station and then fireworks in honor of Memorial Day. Sadly, we had to get back to Lincoln and couldn't see it!

3 Generations - Very cool...

Coolest baby around! What a stud!

Sorry about the necessity to turn your head... thought I fixed this....
This is inside the museum. It was a very impressive place!

On the drive home. Brent and I had to giggle because I think that we have a picture like this on EVERY road trip that we take. The only thing that changes is our hair... too funny!

Family swim day!!! So fun!

This weekend was tons of fun. Brent and I would highly recommend traveling to Kansas City. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back and explore some more!!

Graduation Weekend

This past weekend we were able to travel to Gretna to see Austin (Brent's cousin) graduate from High School. It was lots of fun. Saturday they had a nice party for Austin with tons of yummy food and then he graduated on Sunday. It was very different than Brent and my graduation. There was about 180 kids in the graduating class...much smaller than our graduating class.

It was quite toasty over the weekend. I will never get used to Nebraska weather. Thursday it was in the 50's and Saturday it was in the 90's. Doesn't make sense, does it? I just have one question.... where did my nice spring go? It went from cold to hot... hate it!! Luckily, the graduation was in the gym. It was even getting hot and sticky inside. I can't imagine how miserable it would have been outdoors.... yuck!

Here are some cute pictures from this past weekend.... I just can't get enough of this kid.

A preview ... only 18 years to go!

So stinking cute! I love these two boys!!

Happy family!

I LOVE Being a Mom!!!

I had the best mother's day. Brent and Keagan made me breakfast in bed and then gave me a great coupon book! Keagan is the biggest blessing and joy to be around!
He continues to roll all over our apartment. I don't know how he does it, but he can move across the floor. He doesn't crawl, but slithers kinda like a snake. It is the funniest thing!
He finally made the move from bassinet to crib a couple weeks ago. I had a hard time not having him in the same room as me, but he is loving it. He thinks that being in his crib is the funnest thing. We put him to bed at 7 and he plays for an hour before he finally falls asleep and wakes up the next morning and continues playing! I love it! Brent and I get our evening entertainment by spying on Keagan while he goes to bed! It is the cutest thing!!!

Here are some pictures that our good friends took of Keagan. In my opinion, he gets cuter and cuter every second!

Being a mom is great! I love this kid!!

Old Man...

Brent is now officially an old man at 27! Keagan and I tried to take the sting off a little and spoil him. Brent really loves white sheet cake with white frosting that has been put in the fridge for awhile. I personally think that it is boring and not that tasty. So instead of making everyone eat Brent's cake, we got him his own personal sheet cake! He was a very happy boy!

We went out to Ruby Tuesdays for his birthday dinner! We never go there, but it was really yummy. I think that we will be visiting there more frequently!

Our good friends, the Webers, always make our favorite dinner and cake for our birthdays. When asked what kind of cake that Brent wanted (and after we had told him that he couldn't have a white sheet cake) he said that he wanted a Beauty and the Beast scene. Laurel and Todd were very creative and made this masterpiece! It tasted delicious!
I don't know if I should be worried about his choice.....

The handsome birthday boy!!

My two favorite guys!!! So handsome!

I am happy that Brent is finally 27 with me so he can put the "Cougar" jokes away til next year. Such a funny man that I married!!! Love him!
